“You enter the forest
at the darkest point,
where there is no path.
Where there is a way or path,
it is someone else's path.
You are not on your own path.
If you follow someone else's way,
you are not going to realize
your potential.”

Holistic Integration Therapy for Sacred Medicine/Psychedelics
What is Holistic Integration Therapy?
Holistic Integration Therapy does not involve providing or prescribing any psychedelic or other controlled substance to a client during the course of therapy. Additionally, it does not include referring to “underground” resources, recommending use, guiding, supervising or otherwise being present with a client during a psychedelic experience (exceptions occur when it's prescribed by a medical doctor and it occurs under the care and supervision of a medical professional such in cases where Ketamine Assisted Therapy/Psychotherapy (KAT/P) takes place). My clients should not plan to attend therapy sessions while under the influence of any psychedelic or any other controlled substance.
Holistic integration Therapy is for individuals who choose to take psychedelics for spiritual and therapeutic purposes. It goes beyond focusing intentions for specific journeys in the short term; it involves the use of a variety of psychological, spiritual, and somatic tools and the client’s collaborative effort that includes drawing insights from within and integrating them into their life for the purpose of achieving a greater self-liberation and realization.
While you can certainly work to integrate a sacred medicine experience through your own personal practices, it may be very helpful to have a specialized therapist to talk to, and that’s where Sacred Medicine/Psychedelics Holistic Integration therapy comes in.
In a safe and non-judgmental space, I offer Holistic Integration Therapy; embodied psycho-spiritual integration for reflecting and acting upon the insights and lessons learned during the ketamine infusion delivered by medical professionals, or psychedelic experiences that are a direct result of post spiritual rituals within a ceremony or retreat directed by a shaman/spiritual practitioner in a sacred group setting.
Ketamine Holistic Integration
Ketamine Infusion Therapy has been found to be effective for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic pain. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the therapeutic effects of ketamine with the support and safe container available through the therapeutic relationship.
Even though I have specialized training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and have closely worked in partnership with medical providers, at this time, I am only available for post-ketamine treatment. Thus, I am here if you would like to further explore, understand, integrate, and honor, using an embodied psycho-spiritual lens, what comes up during your ketamine infusions.
Psychedelics as Sacred Medicine
*I don’t recommend psychedelics, tell you where to get them, or help you choose which one to use. However, I do help my clients, who decide to use psychedelics as part of their spiritual and therapeutic pursuits, to access their own spiritual and somatic intelligence for healing and guidance. Because psychedelics can be misused and abused, I do not work with individuals who are experiencing active addiction.
What is termed as the “mystical experience” as a result of the sacred use of psychedelics such as peyote, ayahuasca, kambo, and psilocybin mushrooms, to name some, has been closely studied in the field of neuroscience and psychiatry by researchers such as Roland R. Griffiths, who is currently Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience and Center Director for Center for Psychedelics and Consciousness Research. In the following, Griffiths describes experiences reported by study participants as mystical: “They are defined by a sense of oneness – people feel that their separation between the personal ego and the outside world is sort of dissolved and they feel that they are part of some continuous energy or consciousness in the universe. Patients can feel sort of transported to a different dimension of reality, sort of like a waking dream.”
Before Embarking on the Journey - Preparation
The psychedelic experience is a journey into the unknown because you don’t know exactly what it will be like, thus preparing before the experience can support and enhance your healing process. Self-care that is grounding such as journaling, yoga, and cleansing diets are common practices that have been known to be very helpful, and having someone to support your emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being through this adventurous process can be just as crucial.
A professional guide or a sitter, which I am not, can help you identify self-care practices that you can implement and that are your own. They can also support you in compassionately holding yourself accountable for practicing wholesome self-care, and working through any difficult emotions that may arise as a result of your preparation period that includes your body, mind, heart, and spirit.
A sacred medicine experience can be a major life event. Like any major life event, it can provoke complex thoughts and feelings, some amazing, some scary, and all worth exploring. It’s only by delving into these feelings that one can maximize the therapeutic potential of the experience. Otherwise, the revelations fade away and the pull of day-to-day life finds one settling back into old habits and patterns.
Intention as the Key, and You as the Shifter of Your Own Reality
Ralph Metzner was a psychologist, writer and researcher, who participated in psychedelic research at Harvard University in the early 1960s. He maintained that it’s important to integrate the memory of what individuals experience during their sacred medicine journey into their present state of identity, as a way to validate it and connect it to their own life. Otherwise, if they don’t express it, it may become a fantasy. For instance, if one gets the inspiration to become an artist someday and don’t do anything to solidify it, then nothing will come of it.
According to Metzner, to whom some referred to as a consciousness researcher, your intention or question determines what you will pay attention to, which in turn determines what you become aware of.
Intention example: To heal my relationship with my father
Question example: How can I heal my relationship with my father?

After the Journey - Holistic Integration
First, I hold a compassionate space for my clients to pour and release their psychedelic experience in a way that best serves them, whether it is through movement, sound, words, etc. Then, I mindfully support their self-inquiry process that ultimately guides them in finding, understanding, and integrating the message(s) directly given to them by their psychedelic vision. After the journey, it is commonly expected to continue to receive insights and information for an indefinite period of time. Integration is a continuous process that unfolds at its own pace. Hence the importance to pay attention, continue to integrate, and whenever possible, take steps to manifest what you would like to see in your life.
Know that I am also here to help you process difficult experiences you may have had with the medicine that may have left you ungrounded and confused, and sometimes not able to go back to your normal life for some time.
Lastly, and this is my favorite part, I will be happy to support you with any unresolved trauma or new insights that may require more than what a guide or a sitter may be able to offer. This is where an opportunity to further your holistic healing may emerge.
