About Lina Katarina (she/ella)

In my work, I do my best to show up with my whole self, and as authentically as possible. As long as I live, I plan to continue to do my own healing work because I recognize that I cannot be a vehicle of conscious transformational change for others, if I myself don't consistently put in the work that it takes to further grow and evolve. Therefore, from a more healed heart, where there is more resilience, self-compassion, and a growing capacity for love and joy, I strive to be able to extend more healing to you and others. In other words, I aspire to strengthen your ability to team up with the healer in yourself, or to find it if you haven’t already discovered it, for your highest good and the highest good of all concerned.
Psychospirtuality has not only taught me to recognize the patterns of our human personality/ego, it also reminds me to look deeper into our true nature, our spirit-filled essence. By integrating embodied spirituality into psychology, I strive to present you with new opportunities to find YOUR own unique way of being with yourself and others.
My ultimate goal is to help you “live on purpose” and to remind you that you have a place in the universe; that you belong. To get there, to reclaim your wholeness, it is imperative to welcome all of yourself; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Consequently, to call back all of the parts of your soul that ultimately belong to you, takes inner work that integrate body, mind, heart, and spirit.
In practicing meditation, kundalini yoga, shamanism, as well as energy healing, I soon became aware of how the body can provide direct access to the spirit. Hence, when this body-spirit connection occurs, the mind and the emotion follow. In my journey, I have learned that whatever we heal on a soul level, becomes healed on all levels. Can you imagine yourself going beyond the limits of your own expectations about how far you can get in your own healing process?
Working with individuals who are motivated to change motivates me to do my best work because I am committed to support you in getting to where you want to be; dedication to service is one of my strengths after all. Moreover, only you know how difficult things are, and/or how ready you are to want to turn your life around; pain usually tends to be a good indicator for change readiness.
On the other hand, if you are looking to be motivated, it is very likely that I am not the healing practitioner for you as that is not my forte.
Ultimately, this is a quest of commitment to yourself, and you are your greatest investment.
Are you ready to play an active role in your healing process? If so, I would love to connect with you!

"When this ultimate crisis comes . . . when there is no way out - that is the very moment when we explode from within and the totally other emerges: the sudden surfacing of a strength, a security of unknown origin, welling up from beyond reason, rational expectation, and hope." ~Emil Durkheim
Above all, I am a dancer and a mover at heart. Though I have never danced professionally, dance has been a valuable outlet for me since the age of 3. For instance, as someone who experienced severe hyperactivity as a little kid, and then had difficulty staying on task as I grew older; dancing and staying physically active has been a game changer.
Much later in life, as a result of my divorce, I fell into a deep depression. With the intention of overcoming the tremendous grief I felt, I simultaneously participated in individual traditional therapy, group therapy, and a support group. Unfortunately, the healing process was grueling; it was taking me a long time to experience any semblance of relief, and the intense emotional turmoil I was feeling was unrelenting. Thus, when the pain became intolerable, and I was willing and ready to do something different; I decided to practice what I preach. I went beyond talk therapy, and started to work with being with the unremitting affliction through conscious dance movement involvement.
It was only after just one conscious dance movement intensive weekend workshop, that I was able to once again, start to come back to myself and reconnect to my own body, heart, mind, and spirit. Finally, I was able to experience some ease, a palpable shift in my life perspective, and as I continued to consciously dance through my heroine’s journey, something unexpected happened; I began to also feel joyful and alive!
While 5rhythms and Open Floor offered me a very strong exploratory foundation into the inner workings of what needed to be healed during this very difficult time in my life, today, Soul Motion is my holistic movement medicine. Through conscious dance movement, I experience a spiritual embodied connection with myself, with others, and with the world at large like no other.
I fully agree with Gabrielle Roth, who inspired by the Gestalt Therapy work of Fritz-Pearls, created and founded 5rhythms; she was quoted stating, "When we give ourselves over completely to the spirit of the dance, it becomes a prayer."

Spiritual and Somatic Influences

Both professionally and personally, I have been led to incorporate a wide variety of Somatic and psychospiritual practices. Spiritually, I am aware of how my work has been revolutionized by Jungian Psychology, Transpersonal Psychology, Psychosynthesis, Embodied Spirituality, Centering Prayer, Zen Buddhism, Shambhala Buddhism, The Realization Process, Non-Dual Awareness, Meditative Inquiry, Shamanic Journeying and Healing, A Course in Miracles, Energy Healing Practices, Past Life Regression, Sound Healing, and Kundalini Yoga as these have been some of the areas of exploration and practice in my own healing journey.
In 2008, I became a massage therapist and briefly practiced as one before attending graduate school a second time. Massage therapy training totally changed the way I interact with the world as it taught me how to truly be at ease in my own skin; it addressed the importance of paying attention to spatial relationships and how the body moves depending on the environment and the situation. Gratefully, this attentiveness skill comes in handy especially when working with clients who have experienced some form of trauma, or have trouble with boundaries.
Before long, I received a Masters in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, a private, Buddhist- inspired and non-sectarian institution rooted in contemplative education; the birth place of the modern mindfulness movement. There, I studied Body Psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy, and was deeply immersed in The Moving Cycle.
During the pandemic, a period of time which was difficult for many, myself included, offered me the time and space to become a certified psychospiritual life coach; the Psychospiritual Institute provided me with consciously creative and insightful transformational tools that I hope to be able to share with you. Moreover, in 2022, I then completed a training with James Ochoa that focused on Treating Adults with ADHD who struggled with Emotional Distress Syndrome of ADHD (EDS), or also known as ADHD-related emotional dysregulation as a result of ADHD-related trauma.
Somatically, I specialize in body-based modalities that address trauma and other challenges from a psychospiritual lens that integrates energy therapy. The Moving Cycle being one of the major tools I utilize, as it emphasizes the healing power of the creative movement process, and firmly upholds the belief that our true basic nature is whole. Some of the other body oriented modalities that inform how I work with clients are: Hakomi, Focusing, Gestalt, Bioenergetics, Nondual Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness.
Determined to immerse myself deeper into my own healing transformation experience, I decided to join the Soul Motion conscious dance movement practice teacher training path. I find that conscious dance movement offers a divine invitation to give emotions the necessary impetus to make sense of what is ready to be embodied, healed, and transformed deep inside very organically.
Lastly, I am committed to personal and professional development, and I consistently spend hours and hours working on my craft in order to be able to continue to not only grow and evolve professionally, but also to keep on feeding the flame of excitement and joy that doing this work evokes in me, and that I wholeheartedly offer to you. It is my hope that the education and experience I have received throughout my life, is of service to you somehow.

What Moves Me

Along the way I have learned not to take myself too seriously, and to more often reconnect with the creative soulful parts in me and in others that enjoy playing and laughing. I love dancing, live music, the piano, drumming, original inspirational art, reading, walking and talking, meditating, learning new things, doing my own shadow work, engaging in various practices that promote my own spiritual growth, experiencing different cultures, traveling abroad whenever possible, hiking, sharing special moments with animal friends I encounter, spending time out in nature, sitting by large bodies of water, and loving on the people and animals in my life such as Tan my life partner, my mother, and unfortunately no longer with us, Chubby our departed fur baby.
Gratitude...for Mentors and Teachers. Because having a team of human angels who have believed in me and shown me the way, has made all the difference in the world!
